Shaun had noticed that the standard carp antiseptics run down the carp's throat causing the fish distress when applied to hook wounds - and the standard antiseptics quickly wash off. Providing only a few hours protection from bacterial infection.

Medicarp is the only carp antiseptic on a gel base providing a bacterial barrier that lasts for several days, generally long enough for any wounds or open sores to heal.
